When rising housing costs threaten her Upper West Side apartment, seventy-eight-year-old Roz takes in three roommates rather than surrender her home. The women bring awkward habits, complicated histories and financial worries of their own. Kelly Bishop, writing with Ali Rosen, follows a practical arrangement as it becomes a chosen family. This comic ensemble novel gives later life room for friendship, conflict and reinvention without treating it as an epilogue.
