Empty and Marvelous
A Los Angeles writer learns that an ex-lover has died just as she is preparing to promote her latest book. Unable to share the news easily with her husband, she tries to contain the grief and the depression it threatens to awaken. Broder brings dark comedy and supernatural desire into this uneasy effort at carrying on, setting private distress against public appearances and the ordinary routines of a supermarket visit.
