Why it is on our radar

Perri’s debut builds a long friendship around a recurring place and an unspoken event. The college-to-adulthood timeline offers a route for readers interested in how early intimacy survives ambition, distance and family life.

About the book

Maud, Connor and Gideon meet at Brown University and begin returning to a Maine blueberry farm each summer. Their friendship lasts for decades, but one season becomes a subject none will discuss. Years later, a teenage visitor arrives at the farm looking for answers about the history they have concealed.
